Billy Goat Trail

If you are looking for a little more adventure along the C & O Canal, this is for you. Over rocks and through lots of trees!

Rock Creek Hiker-Biker Trail

From the DC line north to Rock Creek Regional Park, which is north of Rockville and west of Olney.

Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

Another great green space! 

A great place to spend the day together, from families to couples to alone time.

Northwest Branch Stream Valley Park Trails

Maryland suburbs northeast of Washington, D.C.

Hours: Sunrise to sunset

Sligo Creek Trail

Prince George’s County Line to Orebaugh Ave. near Wheaton Regional Park.

Hours: Transient Bike Commuters: 5 am-midnight
All Others: Sunrise to Sunset

A well-cared-for natural environment for residents and visitors! The wooded pave and unpaved trails, creek, picnic areas and bridges add up to a great visit whether you choose to walk or run, bicycle, or simply sit and enjoy the scenery. There are playgrounds for the kids, too!


Wheaton Regional Park

Lighted Courts: close at 11 pm

A beautiful green oasis in urban/suburban areas. A nice escape from the urban concrete.

Brookside Nature Center

1400 Glenallan Ave., Wheaton, Maryland 20902

Hours:
Sunday – Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday – Friday 10 am – 5 pm
Saturday 1 pm - 5 pm

Outdoor park areas and trails are open from dawn to dusk daily.

A wonderful jewel! A mini park that bursts with color in the spring and has plenty of activities geared just for kids.

Kemp Mill Urban Park

1200 Arcola Avenue, Wheaton, MD 20902

Hours: Sunrise to Sunset

The diverse mix of flowering, evergreen, and canopy trees in the park’s interior complement the water features, playground, and circulation. The perfect activity park for kids!

Kemp Mill Estates Local Park

120 Claybrook Drive, Wheaton, MD 20902

Offers a peaceful retreat for visitors of all ages. Whether you're looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll, have a picnic with family and friends, or simply unwind amidst nature, Kemp Mill Estates Local Park provides the perfect setting.


National Air and Space Museum

6th St. and Independence Ave SW, Washington, DC 20560

So much info jam-packed into this place, some things you've known and some you probably never knew!

National Museum of American History

1300 Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20560

Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

This place is the museum of all museums!! Both kids and adults will surely have fun with their interactive activities.

National Law Enforcement Museum

Want a deeper look inside the life of a police officer, this is the place to visit. A cool museum to check out with a lot of interactive installments.

Museum of Natural History

A great place to take kids, or cool for adults as well! It is a huge museum with lots of exhibits to see.

International Spy Museum

Fun way to spend the day. If you are a huge fan of anything related to spies this is the perfect place for you!

National Children's Museum

Experience the delight of the National Children's Museum, an ideal family excursion brimming with fun! This is a great place to go for young children.

A great place to spend a day outdoors with your family without feeling overcrowded.

Wheaton Ice Arena (Ice Skating)

The bottom line is that if you're looking for a nice public skate in the area, this is an excellent option.
